My Recent Habit

If you've seen me recently, you've probably seen this too...

My daily fix:
One large ice water w/ extra ice (from the Malt Shop)and
One Twix candy bar (or as many as I can get my hands on without feeling guilty).

(When I'm feeling really daring, I'll switch the water for a diet coke with grape and lemon...but only on occasion.)

Last Night

We had ourselves a veritable "Smore"-gasbord...YUM!

with an equally delectable looking bowl of chocolate...

Can't wait to do that again!

Even spending 3 hours to make ten 6' sub sandwiches can be rewarding.

It wouldn't be a meal...

It's my blog and I'll "cry" if I want to...but I promise not to make a habit of it.

Dear Neighbor Person,

Maybe when you have been pregnant for...oh, let's say about NINE MONTHS...and you are tired, hot and grouchy, with a car load of stuff to carry inside, you will understand what it is like to get home and find that the parking spot closest to your front door has been taken by either member of the same inconsiderate couple...again. This does not help me to like you...which I promise I am really trying-desperately almost-to do. Have a lovely day!

Love,
"Oscar the Grouch sans Trash Can" in #5

(My parking lot crusade starts as soon as Mr. Dolan gets back to the office...you're safe until Monday.)

Admitted

Every week from now until the end of the pregnancy I get to go to the hospital for non stress tests...just to check on The Nugget.

Did you know that when you do this test you have to be admitted to the hospital? Cool right?

Next time, I'm going to ask for some water...hopefully they'll give it to me in one of those AWESOME water bottle mug things with the best straws on the planet...

Cross your fingers for me.

P.S. Toady's craving: PICKLES. Lots of them!

*update....no water bottle. BLAST!

I don't believe weekly NST's are common protocol. In our case, the boy, who is looking forward to a lifetime career of acrobatics, was practicing in the womb and got himself a little too tangled for anyone's taste...so we are monitoring him. However, we do have plans to name him Ashley, move to Europe and train him for Cirque du Soleil...it could work.

Last Saturday was moving day; it went supremely well thanks to my family and a couple of awesome friends...

Saturday was also the Scandinavian Day Festival here in town; that means delicious turkey for lunch...

To get the turkey, you have to stand in a very long line.

At eight months pregnant, directly following a moving escapade, my ankles weren't in the mood to stand in a long line...call me lazy...so Heather and I sat in the grass next to the line and tickled Andre.

I looked up at my parents standing in the line and thought:

Ever since the day they had children, they have been "Standing in Line" for us...Doing all the hard work for us that we couldn't do for ourselves...or that we were just too tired for.

They have always done so with love, but have not always been met with the appreciation that was deserved.

Then I realized that in less than a month, Jesse and I will be a part of the "Standing in Line" crowd-a lifetime of serving our children...Standing in long lines and going the extra mile just feed our children an overpriced turkey lunch at a small town heritage festival.

I just hope that we can handle our new job with the grace that our own parents have portrayed. We certainly have great examples to follow!
