Today while I sat listening to my media player (no I don't have an i-pod...yet), a song from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat came up...

"...Seven years of bumper crops are on their way Years
of plenty, endless
wheat and tons of hay Your farms will boom, there won't
be room To store the
surplus food you grow After that, the future doesn't
look so bright Egypt's luck
will change completely overnight And famine's
hand will stalk the land With food
an all-time low Noble king, there is no
doubt What your dream is all about All
these things you saw in your pajamas
Are a long-range forecast for your
farmers..."

...and I thought to myself, "I FEEL LIKE PHARAOH!"
You may wonder what would possess me to make strange statements like this, but lets get some perspective here....Jesse and I are currently facing a YEAR OF PLENTY which just comes with the new job we recently acquired as Resident Assistents for the Snow College dorms. And lets face it: I don't need a JOSEPH to remind me that at the end of that year we will face a considerable FAMINE...

"...And I'm sure it's crossed
your mind What it is you have to find Find a man to lead you through the famine
With a flair for economic planning But who this man would be I just don't
know..."

Luckily, we have experienced a wonderful period of time in which we were forced to live in a frugal manner. That means we don't need to find a MAN TO LEAD US THROUGH THE FAMINE. We have found our own FLAIR FOR ECONOMIC PLANNING. Coming to the realization that I can do this has made me so very grateful for those prophets, apostles and parents who have given such good advice on the importance of, and the how to's for simplifying my life, deciding between needs and wants, and living within my needs. I have been so blessed!

New Soul

"I'm a new soul, I came to this strange world hoping I could learn a bit 'bout
how to give and take. But since I came here, felt the joy and the fear finding
myself making every possible mistake..."

I certainly have chosen to learn things the hard way, making MISTAKES wherever possible, but learning so many valuable lessons, giving me the rich and full life that I live each day. I look forward to sharing the JOYS that find throughout my journey in this STRANGE WORLD.

"See I'm a young soul in this very strang world, hoping I could learn a bit 'bout what is true and fake..."

I'm ready to let all the events of this strange world TAKE ME FAR AWAY. I know in the end everything will have been for my benefit and I can't wait to share with you all the HAPPY ENDs that I find.

"This is a happy end, come and give me your hand. I'll take you far away..."
